Introduction

The Shiva lingam is the symbol of Lord Shiva in Hinduism, held in reverence and worshipped from ancient times.  The meaning of the Sanskrit word 'lingam' is 'phallus' in particular and 'gender' in general.  The lingam represents the masculine creative energy, while the markings on the stone represent the feminine energy, wisdom and intuition.  This union of the genders symbolizes perfect balance and harmony.

Our Shiva lingam stones are sourced from the only place in the world where they occur naturally, at the source of the Narmada River, one of the most sacred rivers in India.  They are gathered one sacred day a year and the best of them are polished into the traditional lingam shape.  Each stone, made of crypto crystalline quartz, is unique.
